Diabetes Education Empowers Patients to Take Control

People recently diagnosed with diabetes, and those who have coped with the condition for a lifetime, can learn valuable disease management solutions through the Diabetes Education Program provided by Texas A&M University. The education team from TAMU hosts the class in Yoakum on the first Tuesday of every month at Yoakum Community Hospital. These classes provide one-on-one nutrition and lifestyle consultations, as well as one year of continuous support.

The TAMU Diabetes team provides dietary guidance, exercise recommendations, suggestions for self-management and a factual presentation to dispel myths about the disease. This program offers a chance to gain a new level of confidence and the ability to take charge and manage this disease.
